Techies Lab Internship Program at Zain Iraq

Aug. 17, 2025

A powerful idea submitted to the ZAINIAC platform has now evolved into a full-fledged initiative at Zain Iraq, as part of the (IDE) initiatives aligned with the group's Gen Z 2025 vision. Congratulations to the ideator Abdalrahman Ayad, for successfully bringing the Techies Lab Internship Program to life. Special thanks to Ali Maky, Mina Ibrahem, Sally Saad, and Tabarak Abdulhakeem for their early support in launching the program, as well as to Zahraa Hazim, the vanguard of this idea. This is more than just an internship; it’s a strategic step toward building Iraq’s digital future.

Techies Lab Internship was designed to tackle two pressing challenges in the tech world:

  • A skills gap in the talent pool, making it hard for Zain to find job-ready candidates.
  • The absence of a sustainable talent pipeline to nurture future digital leaders.

Zain Iraq’s Techies Lab bridges the gap between classroom theory and real-world tech needs with:

  • Hands-on, customized training aligned with Zain’s systems and tools.
  • A structured pathway for 10 young talents, recent graduates from leading tech universities in Baghdad, to become key players in innovation and digital transformation.
  • A continuous infusion of fresh perspectives into the company to fuel creativity and growth, and Iraq’s technological progress.
  • Interns challenge norms and bring in new energy to drive change.

The program isn’t just about developing interns; it’s also a growth opportunity for our teams, allowing employees to step up as mentors and trainers, sharpening their coaching skills.

The Techies Lab Internship is now fully implemented, thanks to the ideator and the support of the Zain Iraq Vanguard. It's a clear example of how innovative thinking from within can create long-term impact for both Zain and the wider community.
